SUBVERSIVE 2025 Season!

As we reflect on Season 2025, Lumen Repertory Theatre presented an extraordinary lineup that celebrated the subversive nature of truthful storytelling. Quickly becoming a forerunner of the arts in Northeast Florida, our mission to illuminate perspectives and provide artists with possibilities through professional theatre continued.

The Subversive season delved into the dark, unsettling corners of faith, ambition, and identity. “Agnes of God” subverted traditional religious and psychological boundaries, while “American Buffalo” deconstructed the American Dream and the ethics of capitalism. Finally, the world premiere of “Harlan and Bronna Jump Out the Window” offered a satirical, fourth-wall-breaking look at privilege, societal collapse, and human connection. Together, these plays created a season that provoked, challenged, and redefined what it means to confront the uncomfortable truths of our world.

We were honored to explore the nuances of navigating our current realities with three uniquely subversive lenses and are grateful for the journey shared with our audience.
