ABOUT THIS PRODUCTION
Michael Jacobs, the Emmy and Academy Award-nominated creator behind Boy Meets World, Girl Meets World, Dinosaurs, Quiz Show, and three previous Broadway and Off-Broadway plays, debuts his newest work right here in Jacksonville! This world premiere is a playful yet subversive commentary on privilege, identity, and social collapse. This comical, fourth-wall-busting play explores the chaotic lives of Harlan and Bronna, a wealthy New York couple who lose their fortune and must confront their own humanity—all while the world is literally ending. With its inventive structure and sharp satire, the play challenges traditional theatre conventions, exposing the absurdity of social status and the fragility of human connection. The couple’s struggle to adapt to a world in chaos becomes a biting metaphor for contemporary anxieties about wealth, status, and societal breakdown.
An exclusive Opening Night Gala sponsored by Intuition Ale Works will be hosted in Craig Lounge at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church from 5:30 to 7:00 PM on Friday, September 19, followed by the performance at 7:30 PM. Gala attendees (Gala + Opening Night performance ticket, $85) will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with Michael Jacobs, theatre representatives from New York City, members of the cast and creative team, Lumen Rep staff, and other cultural influencers. Beer, wine, and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served. All gala participants will be entered into a drawing to win several pairs of 2026 Season Tickets or a signed limited-edition show poster. The opening night performance alone is available for $45.
